„Taking preventive action in supporting children and adolescents to realize their scholastic and professional potential is hugely significant for the quality of life of those children, the future productive members of our society. As representative of the Deutsche Gesetzliche Unfallversicherung (German Legal Accident Insurance) (DGUV), which is concerned with the avoidance of and needs-based care of job-related illness and accidents, I gladly support the work of the German Paediatric Pain Centre. Preventive and rehabilitative measures should be put into place as early as possible - not only, in the case of recurring pain, to reduce the risk of chronification lasting into adulthood, but also to make it possible for children and adolescents to attend school regularly, thereby  completing their education and improving their future prospects.

Research is indispensable to high-quality and needs-oriented care. I’m happy to see the interdisciplinary and practical approach to research at the German Paediatric Pain Centre, as well as the commitment to the care of children and adolescents with chronic pain. I’m also pleased to be able to support this work as a member of the advisory panel of the German Paediatric Pain Centre.”
