German Parliament: Ulla Schmidt
“Children are our most precious possession and the future of our society. In view of the demographic change occurring today, we must ensure that sick children’s needs are met in order to support their healthy development. In this way we can help ensure their way towards an independent and productive future.
Unfortunately, chronic pain and other psychosomatic illnesses in children are increasingly prevalent. Societal and economic development is leading to ever-increasing psychological stress, also for our children. For this reason I support the German Paediatric Pain Centre. Projects like this one help children and adolescents whose psychosomatic illness limits their daily life and threatens their development, to find their way back to healthy life.
