University of Witten/Herdecke
“Since its founding in 1982, the University of Witten/Herdecke has seen itself as a place that actively contributes to the further development of research, teaching and society using new models and ideas. The Witten model of problem-oriented learning and the introduction of the Human Medicine model course of studies have now been widely disseminated. With the establishment of the Vodafone Foundation Chair of Children’s Pain Therapy and Pediatric Palliative Medicine in 2008 we have broken new ground towards the goal of intensifying research initiatives in this area, thereby further improving pain therapy as a whole. The establishment of a German Paediatric Pain Centre, as a “Lighthouse project” will have significant ongoing ripple effects.”
