Juvenile Fibromyalgia Syndrome
Juvenile fibromyalgia syndrome is characterized by ongoing muscle pain accompanied by symptoms like tiredness, headaches, a tendency towards diarrhea, increased anxiety, tension or sleep disturbances. In order to make a diagnosis, the doctor ascertains if certain places in the body, so-called “tender points” are more painful to the touch.
Current scientific references include JFMS as a chronic pain condition. We also treat it as such.
Relevant scientific associations drew up a revised therapy guideline for the diagnosis and therapy of fibromyalgia in early 2012. The German guideline is available here.
